Q: What CAD program are you using to make your CAD models?
A: Autodesk Inventor Professional 2012. This is a 3D Solid Modeling Program, equivalent to Solidworks, SolidEdge, CATIA, NX, and others. Autodesk Inventor is unique among it's rivals in that Autodesk offers the program for free, under a single requirement: you must be a registered student with an accredited college or university. This is verified by submitting your school's email address during the product's activation, which is then used to send the activation code. Inventor is just about as good as the other programs mentioned in terms of power and functionality, but where (well at least I feel) it really blows the others away is the user interface. I've used NX, CATIA and Solidworks, and Inventor wins over the former two by far, and narrowly misses a tie with the later.
